so happy together

When I heard the news that my cousin was getting hitched, I jumped at the chance to help out with the decor for their big day!! I absolutely love weddings. . .  true love, endless drinking, dirty dancing, and complete happiness all wrapped up in one night!! With all of that aside, decorating and styling a wedding honestly warms my heart and tickles my fancy. Along with my aunt Alice from Moss to Moon, we created a little magic and had a blast doing it. . .

shiny happy pumpkins

Instead of the normal carving + decorating routine, this year we chose to spray paint our pumpkins! It is super quick + easy and gives those plain old halloween staples a bit of a facelift. . . We painted ours in metallics and neon, what color will you paint yours?
happy halloween!!

halloween {part 1}

Halloween is 3 days away, I just finished decorating for Christmas at work, and my husband just got home from being on the road for 7 weeks, so I figured that I would do a quick Halloween crafting post! I love creating tiny spooky moments in my house and so does my little one.  I had these vintage salt + pepper shakers laying around and decided to make a halloween version of a snow globe! This is like a 10 minute project people, about the same amount of time that it takes to inhale a pound of halloween candy. . . and yes, this has happened to me multiple times this week!
 {gather your supplies}
 {have a little helper fill your shakers}
{create your spooky scene. . . I went with vintage bottles, skulls, and candles}

Happy Halloween!! Stay tuned for part 2!!

our little treasure chest

Growing up, we always had treasure chests full of random loves and baubles that we would collect throughout our years in sunny California! Our favorite memories from our childhood are our many travels to our grandparents houses to play with all of their old junk. Honestly, we had really cool grandparents with amazing treasures! From that moment we began to love all things rusty, torn, and aged. The older the better!  Lately we have been traveling the coast hunting for treasures and truly amazing gems, we are truly addicted to it. But our places aren't big enough to keep hoarding all of this rad stuff, so together we decided to open a little shop over at Etsy to share some of our gypsy findings with you.We hope you enjoy our treasure chest!

Please stop by our little SHOP and stay a while!!

Here is a tiny peak at what is inside. . .
Stay tuned, we will be adding new pieces daily! What kind of treasures have you been hiding?

homemade gift idea :: get well soon

Looking for a charming gift idea? I made this little gem for my soul sister Mary. She is a treasure hunter at heart with a wonderful bohemian way of living.  I wanted to create something to cheer her up for all of the sunny days to come!! I picked up this silver rimmed, cut glass bowl from an estate sale and planted baby succulents in it. Voila!!

chalk.chalk.chalk

Chalkboard paint might be my favorite thing in the entire world- I am 100% obsessed with it! Everything that I own would be covered in chalkboard paint if I had the time. A chalkboard in the kitchen is a whimsical necessity for everyone, it is perfect for writing menus, recipes, to-do lists, and daily affirmations. My new kitchen was lacking wall space to hang a chalkboard, so I decided to paint the ugly pantry door into a giant one! The depth of the black color and ever changing drawings that cover it add a layer of interest and playfulness to the room. Major bonus alert. . . the large chalkboard is perfect for the kids! It keeps them busy while you are cooking + baking!

DIY :: painted pots

I saw these cute itty bitty plants in terracotta pots as I was checking out at Trader Joes the other day. I am a sucker for those impulse buys at registers, but give me a good gossip mag and I will try my hardest to avoid throwing another $20 bucks worth of needless things into my cart at the last minute! Anyways, I ended up buying 3 of them with the intention of painting them in fancy neon shades. With Mother's Day approaching, my mind wanders to all of my beautiful friends that are mothers. My idea? Ding dong ditch! I am the master of leaving little gifts on the doorsteps of others. I am not gonna lie, I find pleasure in picturing them opening their doors and finding little goodies sitting on their porch all alone waiting for them. . . These are perfect for any occasion or non-occasion! Try ding dong ditching someone today. . . Stay tuned for pics of my ditches tomorrow!! In the meantime, grab your paint brush and start jazzing up those pots.

{have a mystical weekend}

weekend project :: air plant bookends

Mighty Houseplants clean indoor air and extract pollutants. Plants are amazing, especially the kind that don't need soil or much water, only air!! The idea that you don't have to pot these suckers leaves the list of opportunities endless!! You can hang them, stick them in glass jars, create beautiful tablescapes. and even use them inside of furniture. I love the unique character of these tiny green sprouts, each one has it's own quirky personality. Low maintenance and beautiful, air plants are the perfect houseplant to add into any room.

. . . and here is my weekend project
